Bartender

The Bartender will be responsible for crafting and serving a variety of beverages while providing exceptional customer service to guests. This role plays a vital part in creating a positive and enjoyable atmosphere in the hotel's bar, ensuring guest satisfaction and contributing to the overall success of the food and beverage department.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Beverage Preparation:

  • Prepare and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, beers, wines, and soft drinks, in accordance with established recipes and standards.
  • Ensure drinks are accurately and consistently made, with attention to presentation and quality.

2. Guest Service:

  • Welcome guests to the bar and engage in friendly and professional interactions.
  • Offer beverage suggestions, explain the drink menu, and provide recommendations based on guest preferences.
  • Serve guests promptly and courteously, ensuring a positive experience.

3. Order Management:

  • Take drink orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with legal drinking age regulations.
  • Manage and balance multiple drink orders simultaneously during busy periods.

4. Menu Knowledge:

  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the beverage menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and special promotions.
  • Be prepared to answer questions and provide information about drinks.

5. Cleanliness and Organization:

  • Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including proper stocking of bar supplies and glassware.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations and sanitation standards.
  • Regularly clean and sanitize bar equipment.

6. Upselling and Salesmanship:

  • Promote special beverages, limited-time offers, and upsell premium liquor and cocktails to increase revenue.
  • Encourage responsible drinking and monitor guest alcohol consumption.

7. Billing and Payment:

  • Present and explain bills to guests, process payments accurately, and return change promptly.
  • Handle guest billing inquiries and issues professionally.

8. Inventory Management:

  • Assist in monitoring beverage inventory levels and reporting low stock to the Bar Manager.
  • Participate in regular inventory counts and assist in placing orders for supplies.

Qualifications:

  • Previous bartending experience in a hotel or similar establishment preferred.
  • Bartending certification or training is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of beverage recipes, mixing techniques, and drink presentation.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently and remain composed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with safety and sanitation standards.
  • Knowledge of responsible alcohol service and legal drinking age regulations.
  • A willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
