Concierge Porter/Bell Boy

As a Concierge Porter or Bell Boy, you will be the first point of contact for guests arriving at the hotel. Your primary responsibility is to provide exceptional guest service by assisting with luggage, providing information, and facilitating guest needs, ensuring their stay starts and ends on a positive note. A Concierge Porter or Bell Boy plays a vital role in creating a positive first impression for hotel guests. This position requires excellent customer service skills, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to ensuring guest comfort and satisfaction during their stay.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Guest Arrival and Departure:

  • Greet arriving guests with a friendly and welcoming demeanour.
  • Assist guests with the handling of luggage, including unloading from vehicles and delivering to rooms.
  • Escort guests to their rooms, providing information about hotel facilities and services.

2. Luggage Handling:

  • Safely and securely transport guests' luggage to and from rooms.
  • Ensure luggage is properly tagged and accounted for during transit.
  • Offer assistance with packing or unpacking, if requested.

3. Information and Assistance:

  • Provide guests with information about the hotel, including dining options, hours of operation, and special services.
  • Offer recommendations for local attractions, restaurants, and transportation options.
  • Assist guests with making restaurant reservations, arranging transportation, or booking tours.

4. Guest Services Coordination:

  • Coordinate with the front desk and concierge team to fulfil guest requests promptly and efficiently.
  • Ensure timely delivery of amenities or services to guest rooms, as requested.

5. Valet Parking:

  • Assist with valet parking services, including parking and retrieving guests' vehicles.
  • Handle vehicle keys securely and professionally.

6. Bell Desk Organization:

  • Maintain the bell desk area in an organized and clean manner.
  • Keep track of luggage carts and ensure they are readily available for guest use.

7. Security and Safety:

  • Be vigilant about the safety and security of guests and their belongings.
  • Follow hotel security procedures and emergency protocols as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is a plus.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Physically fit and capable of lifting and carrying heavy luggage.
  • Professional appearance and a courteous attitude.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and a focus on guest satisfaction.
  • Availability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
