GSA (Housekeeping)

A Room Attendant/ GSA plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of guest rooms in the hotel. Their primary responsibility is to ensure that guests enjoy a clean and comfortable stay. The Room Attendant, or Housekeeping Guest Service Associate, is responsible for cleaning and maintaining guest rooms to ensure a high level of cleanliness and guest satisfaction. This role plays a crucial part in delivering a positive guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Room Cleaning:

  • Clean and tidy guest rooms according to established standards, including making beds, changing linens, and cleaning bathrooms.
  • Vacuum carpets, sweep and mop floors, and dust all surfaces.
  • Ensure that amenities and supplies are replenished.

2. Inventory Management:

  • Report any maintenance issues, damaged items, or missing supplies in guest rooms.
  • Properly handle and store cleaning chemicals and equipment.

3. Attention to Detail:

  • Pay close attention to detail to ensure that no area is overlooked during room cleaning.
  • Report any lost and found items to the supervisor.

4. Guest Services:

  • Greet guests politely when encountered and respond to guest requests in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Report any guest complaints or issues to the Housekeeping Supervisor for resolution.

5. Safety and Hygiene:

  • Adhere to safety and hygiene protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Report any safety hazards or concerns to the supervisor.

6. Teamwork:

  • Work collaboratively with the housekeeping team to ensure efficient room cleaning and turnover.
  • Assist with special cleaning projects and deep cleaning tasks as assigned.

7. Reporting:

  • Complete daily room cleaning assignments and report progress to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
  • Document any unusual incidents or guest requests.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent/ Diploma in housekeeping is preferred.
  • Previous experience in housekeeping or a similar role is preferred but not always required.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to perform tasks that require bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
  • Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanor.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment is a plus.
  • Understanding of and commitment to safety and hygiene protocols.
  • Customer service skills and a willingness to meet guest needs.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
