The World Group is a 40-year-old organisation with its foundation in mining & steel. Today, the organisation employs more than 500 to 1500 employees across its various verticals.

Our Journey

Round 1993
The group started its own mining operation with M/s Geetarani Mohanty Raikela Iron Ore Mines. The present EC quantity is around 5 MT. M/s Geetarani Mohanty caters to multiple steel-making plants in the vicinity and across the country.
Round 2005
The World Group’s first foray into hospitality, with the acquisition of The World Business Hotel, Barbil, a property situated in the quaint mining town of Keonjhar. Spoons & Forks, the restaurant has been a crowd favourite since its inception and has been a hub for both social and corporate get-togethers
Round 2007
The World Backwaters, a beautiful lakeside resort spread over 3.5 acres was the group’s second operational resort in the town of Alleppey, and the first property in Kerela. An instantaneous hit among leisure travellers, the resort attracts tourists from across the globe and remains a crowd favourite for its untainted experience of relaxing in the lap of nature.
Round 2022
In March, the group acquired The World Kochi, a boutique hotel in the commercial capital of Kerela. The acquisition of properties in Kerela led to the formation of WGH Hotels & Resorts, a part of the group which specifically takes care of the operations of the resorts in Kerela.
Round 2023
The acquisition of a properties in Puri, Munnar and a resort in Thekkady has marked the aggressive pursuance of the team and the promoters to become a name to reckon within the hospitality industry.

Upcoming Hotels

On the eastern front, The World Hotels Pvt Ltd has secured a location for an upcoming marquee hotel. The hospitality wing of the group is starting an ambitious project in the temple city of Bhubaneswar.

An urban retreat, the project aims to go operational in 2023 with 111 rooms. Aiming to be a gastronomical destination, the hotel boasts multiple dining outlets that will serve a variety of culinary delights and cocktail curations.

The group caters to the growing demands of today's business and leisure travellers. With an aim to have a pan-Indian presence, the group has envisioned having a network of signature hotels and resorts in scenic settings. All properties have a unique identity of their own and imbibe the local culture in the décor.
